WHAT is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, common and dependable medical therapies used around the world. It is, by its very nature, a simple, safe and effective form of health care.  At Acupuncture-Advantage, we use only thin, sterile disposable needles inserted superficially into specific areas of the body in order to help the body’s ability to heal itself. Over the 30 years or so in which acupuncture has developed and progressed in the U.S., it has been proven to be exceptionally safe when performed by licensed acupuncturists, and clinically effective in randomized controlled research studies.

What is it used for?
Experience demonstrates that acupuncture can reliably and safely decrease pain and inflammation in almost any location, quiet spasms, boost immunity, dispel migraines, shrink swelling, regulate hormones, reduce post-surgery recovery time nearly in half, calm anxiety, lift depression, restore mobility, improve digestion, and foster deep relaxation.

Acupuncture is particularly helpful for people with chronic diseases, those conditions that can be managed but often not cured. HOWEVER, because these folks are often taking many medications with multiple side effects, acupuncture can greatly improve their quality of life by helping with these side-effects; improve mood, energy and sleep. All without creating any more side effects.

What to Expect
Acupuncture-Advantage is a People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture (POCA) clinic. POCA is a social-business model whose goal is to allow everyone access to acupuncture by offering treatments in a comfortable and enjoyable group setting. Fees are chosen by the patient from an affordable sliding scale. There is no income verification. By doing so, we offer the Advantage of you receiving treatment as often as needed to get the greatest results, in a nurturing and warm community atmosphere among patients and staff.  It’s a winning endeavor for all; patients, family, friends, the community and our clinic.
